BATTERY BACKUP CALCULATOR

What must keep running
when the grid stops?

Select your essential equipment and desired backup time. Get an initial estimate for lithium battery capacity, inverter power and solar recharge capacity.
01Choose essential equipment
02Set quantity and backup time
03Review battery and inverter estimate
04Validate against actual site conditions

STEP 1

What are you planning?

Choose one option so the calculator asks only the questions relevant to you.

Hybrid system calculationBackup equipment determines battery capacity. Additional daytime equipment determines the hybrid inverter requirement.Jump to daytime equipment ↓
STEP 2

Select equipment needed during a power cut

Start with a preset or create your own selection. Then adjust quantities and expected backup hours.

STEP 3 · HYBRID ONLY

What else may run while solar is available?

Add equipment that may run in daylight but does not need battery backup. Hours are not required because this step sizes maximum inverter demand.

Select only equipment you own and expect to use together. Ekam Energy will validate appliance ratings, starting power and your electrical connection.

HOW TO READ YOUR RESULT

Battery capacity and inverter power
solve different problems.

BATTERY CAPACITY · kWh

How long equipment can run

Energy use accumulates over time. Running a 100-watt load for five hours requires 0.5 kWh before conversion losses and operating margin.

INVERTER POWER · kW

How much can run at once

The inverter must carry simultaneous running loads and tolerate short starting surges from motors such as pumps, refrigerators and air conditioners.

PROFESSIONAL VALIDATION

Why the final design may change

Actual nameplate ratings, phases, power factor, surge behaviour, battery discharge limits, temperature and future expansion all affect equipment selection.
